Notes From a Photographer to Herself

I am up early this morning brainstorming and trying to organize my thoughts and ideas.  I am thankful for my photog. blog and my family blog because it helps me keep everything straight, and all in one place.  This is my last full weekend of appointments before Christmas (I am shutting down early so that I can process orders, and be with my family).... I have 3 today and 2 tomorrow.  Sometimes I find every session running together and I start repeating too much... that is the last thing I want to do.  Today I am most likely going to be dealing with a few lighting challenges as it has been SO SUNNY lately (surprisingly not a good thing), but instead of just hiding from the light under overhangs and old porches (which I will be doing a lot of regardless), I want to try to creatively use the light for some dramatic effects without completely washing out the client.  That is my first goal.  Next, I am dealing with SEVERAL different age groups, from barely toddlers, to teenagers, to all family.  I want to give each session a lot of thought so that I am completely prepared for each one.  I want to incorporate lots of texture and angles, especially for my creative package clients who want more than just the basics.  For my basic package clients, I want to be sure they are receiving crisp, modern.  I am hearing my little Jax call my name and ready to get out of bed, so I will say a little prayer that I will do my best today and go give him a hug!

My Little Friend is 9 Months

Can't believe she will be a year so soon.... I have taken her pics every month since she was born.  What a little beauty!  Trying to talk Mom into baby #3 so she can be like me... plus she has pretty babies!  Why stop?

My Beautiful Cousins!

My little girl and I made a little day trip to Fredericksburg for some girl time.  While we were there I snapped a few pics of my beautiful cousins.  I can remember when they were born, and now they are practically grown, and such sweet, smart, and pretty girls.  I can't believe it!

A Quiet Sunday

It's always so much better when the location is quiet and relaxed, and that is what we got on this cool morning downtown.  A definite change of pace from all the toddlers I have been photographing lately.... kind of enjoyed being able to give directions and have them followed :).  Brother and sister were perfect and got along well, and I hope Mom will be glad to have these... I am seeing how fast time goes by!

Is it really November?

You really can't tell it is almost Thanksgiving by looking at this beautiful, green land.  This is a special place because this is where they got married, and now they get to document some time there with their new baby boy!  He was strictly business, but so adorable!

This family was referred to me by one of my favorite clients, and I can see why they are friends after meeting with them!  So happy and joyful over their new baby boy!  I had a hard time choosing which to share because he is so beautiful!

Holiday Portraits and a First Birthday!

Glad to get to meet a gorgeous family new to the area!  This session was perfect...  a chilly morning, a happy little boy, and I love what we ended up with.  The owl hat was my favorite!
